Air ferries need to become a thing again (as if they were ever a real thing). Especially with how big planes have gotten and what have you. Hell, you could probably modify one of those crazy Airbus Beluga things to carry cars and maybe also even have room left for a modest passenger lounge.

I want to be able to drive everywhere around the world without shipping a car damnit.

Car in the plane appears to be a Jaguar Mark V. Car behind it is a Rolls-Royce, possibly a just-prewar smaller model like a 25/30 or a Wraith.

Airbus is now building 5 Beluga XL s, that will have 30% more cargo capacity than the existing Beluga.

The first one rolled out last week.

I wonder how much trouble it would be to get one’s hands on one of the C-5A s from out at the Boneyard...

Sadly and slightly surprisingly GGC 793 isn’t showing up any more although that may just because the number was issued so long ago.

That’s Beluga 2. The others are called, with remarkable originality, 1, 3, 4 and 5.

That and a lot of those cars were exported in the 60s, I think. Some have returned home, but many are still in the colonies.

Typical European efficiency. Or lack of imagination.

This is what happens when you let Germans name airplanes.

Is that what led to the Goldfinger post? The Carvair was actually based on the DC-4.
